Marco Odermatt dominates the descent in Val Gardena. Casse and Paris far from the podium

It is a domain of Marco Odermatt the descent into Val Gardena valid for the men’s alpine skiing world cup. The Swiss, with a time of 2’03″10, preceded his compatriot by 45 hundredths Franjo Von Allmen and 46 for the American Ryan Cochran-Siegle. Odermatt brought Switzerland back to success on the ‘Saslong’ slope, something that hadn’t happened since 2011 when Beat Feuz triumphed. He also became the most successful Swiss skier in the Cup, reaching the great Pirmin Zurbriggen at 40.

Even further back, only twenty-fifth Dominik Paris a 1″15, Christof Innerhofertwenty-seventh at 1″21. “I expected a lot from the downhill and instead the victory in super-G arrived. It’s been a long time since I expressed myself like this in downhill, I think it’s a further step forward. Now tough races are coming and it will be fun”, Casse said.

The Swiss will make his debut Noel von Gruenigenson of Michael, opponent of Alberto Tomba and who won in Badia in 1996 and 1998.
