Despite being cut during training camp, Rybinski impressed head coach spencer Carbery during preseason games.”I think he’s been one of the big surprises of someone that wasn’t necessarily on our radar to make the Washington Capitals,” Carbery stated in late September. “he’s done a tremendous job of excelling in the games that he’s played in, and he’s been good in the practices. Feels like he’s trending [up] in our institution.”
A 2019 fifth-round draft pick of the Florida Panthers, Rybinski signed with Washington as a free agent in 2022.He’s known for his strong work ethic and could make his NHL debut as early as Sunday against the Los Angeles Kings.

His journey to the Capitals began with the Florida Panthers, who drafted him in the fifth round (136th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft. Before turning pro, he spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL), accumulating 176 points (50g, 126a) in 233 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers and seattle Thunderbirds.
