Yamaha Unveils Aerox Alpha: A “BADASS” New Scooter for Indonesia
yamaha Motor has officially launched the third-generation Aerox, now rebranded as the Aerox Alpha,in Indonesia. This isn’t just a minor refresh; the new scooter boasts a redesigned aesthetic, cutting-edge features, and a name that reflects its bold personality.
Dyonisius Beti, President Director & CEO of PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM), explained the significance of the “Alpha” moniker: “The Aerox Alpha that we launched brings a lot of upgrade on various lines. ‘Alpha’ reflects the leader’s character, and this scooter not only offers a new design, but also features that emotionally reflect that character.”
the Aerox Alpha’s logo, a stylized “ax,” echoes the logo of Yamaha’s Alfa 2-stroke motorcycle, a classic from 1960 to 1996. This nod to the past underscores Yamaha’s commitment to innovation while honoring its heritage.
Beti further emphasized the scooter’s target demographic and its intended image, stating, “BADASS is in a positive sense, namely daring, Brave, Aggressive, Dynamic, Anti-mainstream, Stand Out, and Speed. We believe the presence of the Aerox Alpha will further strengthen the existence of the Yamaha Sport Scooter, where the Aerox Alpha has adopted the R Series character—the DNA that makes it a Super Sport Scooter.”
He added, “It will be increasingly loved by young Indonesians and will become a kind of lifestyle item and dream bike that they must have.”
The Yamaha Aerox Alpha is available in four variants with prices (on the road in Jakarta, excluding additional taxes) ranging from IDR 29,900,000 for the Standard model to IDR 41,730,000 for the top-of-the-line Turbo Ultimate. This price range aims to make the stylish and technologically advanced scooter accessible to a wider audience.
