Tod Citron, chief executive officer of Hill Country Mental Health and developmental Disabilities, emphasized the significance of this local initiative. “This is an possibility to treat locally rather of them having to get shipped off to some private hospital that might be hundreds of miles away,” Citron said. “Thay are served here, stabilized in their own community, and then we refer them out locally for services.”
