Kalin Stoyanov: PM’s Arrest Request is Abuse of Power – Fakti.bg Exclusive

Bulgaria Celebrates Major Milestone: Schengen membership Achieved

Bulgaria has reached a important milestone in its journey toward greater integration with the European‍ Union,as the country officially becomes⁢ a member⁤ of the Schengen Area. This achievement marks the second major accomplishment for Bulgaria since its admission to the EU, following years of dedicated efforts by government officials and agencies.

Kalin Stoyanov, a Member of Parliament from “DPS-New Beginning” and ‍former Interior Minister, expressed his gratitude during an interview on bTV’s “Lice v Lice,” stating, “This is the second major achievement of Bulgaria after our admission to the EU. I want to thank ⁤all the governments, officials of ministries and agencies who over the years have made enormous efforts to ‌reach this result.”

Stoyanov ‍also highlighted the crucial role⁤ played by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Directorate-General for Border Police⁣ in managing illegal migration, which he believes was a key factor in resuming negotiations for Schengen membership. “Most of all,I want to congratulate the colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the colleagues from DG Border Police, who managed to deal with illegal migration and this ⁢was⁢ the reason for the resumption of negotiations on Schengen membership,” he said.

The former minister also extended his thanks‍ to European Commissioner Maria⁢ Gabriel, with whom he⁤ worked closely, as ‍well as the team at the Permanent Representation of Bulgaria in Brussels. “I should also thank Mrs. Maria Gabriel, with‍ whom we worked in remarkable harmony, as well as the people who work in the permanent representation of Bulgaria ‍in Brussels,” Stoyanov added.

no Risk of Becoming a Migrant Hub

Stoyanov emphasized that Bulgaria’s entry into‌ the Schengen Area does not pose any risks to the country becoming a hub‌ for migrants. “Certainly, our acceptance into Schengen does not ⁣carry the risk of our country becoming a⁤ point of acceptance for migrants,” he said. “Similar statements were ‍also made last year, when we were admitted by⁣ air and water to Schengen. There is no drama,” he explained.

Constitutional Concerns Raised

In addition to ‌celebrating the⁢ Schengen achievement, Stoyanov addressed recent concerns over constitutional violations by president Rumen Radev. “The only‌ thing we all understood is that the president of the Republic, Radev, once again ‍violates the Constitution,” stoyanov ‌stated. He pointed out that Radev failed to invite ⁤the parliamentary group ‌of “DPS-New Beginning” to consultations,⁤ a move that Stoyanov ⁢described as a “gross violation of the Constitution.”

“The Constitution is imperative – this is the basic ‌law and in Art. 99,‌ Al. 1 is written: ‘The President after consultations ‍with the parliamentary groups,’⁤ i.e., ⁢with all, he has no‌ right to choose. This is the first⁤ violation,” Stoyanov explained. He further added, ⁤”It doesn’t matter who said what, the Constitution is the basic law and he should respect the Constitution and invite everyone. Everyone should go and express their recommendations.”

Stoyanov also criticized the president’s handling of recent political developments, ⁣stating, “We see this helplessness, how the Bulgarian Parliament had ‌a very tough time ⁤electing the Speaker of the National Assembly, we⁤ see how people‌ from the same parliamentary group do not speak to each other and ‍stand back to⁣ back – how will they form a government?‍ Once again, we are witnessing the president’s gross trampling‍ of the Constitution Radev, who should be the unifier of the nation, discriminates against more than 300,000 voters⁤ who stood behind us.”

Elections Deemed Fair

On the topic of recent elections, Stoyanov ‍expressed confidence in the electoral⁤ process, stating that he accepts the results as fair. “He stated that he accepts the elections as fair,” Stoyanov said.⁢ “Always after every election, there were videos about violations in polling stations. There are authorities that will carry ‍out the relevant checks. We⁤ cannot, on the basis of a few clips, put the ‍elections under‌ a common denominator and say⁤ that they are unfair ‌and that someone⁢ is saying that there are phantoms. Our result is legitimate for the country. Time will tell ⁤if there are any violations. Patience,” commented the former‍ interior minister.

As ⁢Bulgaria continues to navigate its path within the European union, the country’s achievements ⁤and challenges remain a focal point for both domestic and international observers. With Schengen ‍membership secured, Bulgaria now looks forward to further integration and collaboration with its European partners.

Former Prime Minister Faces Legal Scrutiny as Prosecutor’s Office Investigates Potential Abuse of Power

In a recent progress that has captured national ‍attention, the former Prime Minister is under intense legal scrutiny following allegations of abuse of power. The‌ Prosecutor’s Office has taken significant steps, including requesting the immunity of a key figure, ⁢as part of their ongoing investigation. This move has sparked widespread‌ debate and raised ‍questions about the integrity of the country’s political and legal systems.

Kalin Stoyanov, a prominent legal expert, provided insight into the situation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the⁣ legal process. “An interrogation‌ report is not⁢ classified details,” ‍Stoyanov explained. “When it comes to classified information, there is a certain order in which it must be⁤ provided to a certain authority. I⁣ don’t see a problem with what a witness said in a pre-trial. Everything stated in⁣ the interrogation protocol is subject to a full circumstantial⁣ examination. I ⁢have not seen in the⁤ public domain documents with ⁣a bar. The less talk about an investigation, the better.”

Stoyanov also addressed the specific allegations against the ⁣former Prime minister, stating, “The Prime Minister categorically cannot request an arrest. I don’t⁣ see what the drama is that ⁤the Prosecutor’s Office requested the immunity of a representative of the ‍people. If he had asked me⁢ to arrest him, I would not⁢ have done it because it is an offense. This is an abuse of power. This is currently under investigation. The fact that he was prime minister does not mean that he can order detention. It’s absurd. There is an investigation here, it can be proven that there may be wrongdoing by the police officers ⁣along the ‍chain. We saw in the leaked interrogation reports what the police officers wrote, how they persisted, how ‍they were ordered, but the interior minister was also inside. To call them and order them is a complete absurdity.Being Prime⁣ Minister ‍does not give him that right. He‌ has committed a crime, a matter⁤ of proof from the⁤ Prosecutor’s office.”

According to Stoyanov, the actions taken by the Prosecutor’s Office indicate that they have gathered⁤ substantial evidence, suggesting that further charges might ⁣potentially be forthcoming. “From the party of the paramedics, they invent something new every day, so the problem is⁢ with them. We are ready for elections, as we have the ⁣potential to upgrade,” he ⁤added.

This ongoing legal battle has significant implications⁤ not only for the former Prime Minister but⁢ also for⁤ the broader political landscape. As the investigation continues, the ⁣public awaits further developments, with manny hoping for a resolution that upholds the principles of justice and accountability.

Former Prime Minister at a press conference

The case serves as⁣ a reminder of the critical role that‌ the legal system plays in maintaining the integrity of political institutions. As the investigation unfolds, it will be ⁣crucial to follow the evidence and ensure that justice is served, nonetheless of the stature of the individuals involved.

global Climate Summit: ‍Leaders Commit to Ambitious Carbon Reduction goals

In a groundbreaking move to combat climate change, world leaders gathered at the Global Climate Summit in new‍ York City this week, pledging unprecedented commitments to reduce carbon emissions. The summit, hailed as a pivotal moment in global environmental policy, saw representatives from over 190 countries unveil detailed plans to transition to cleaner energy sources and implement lasting practices.

Among the key announcements was the ⁤United ⁢States’‌ commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. President Joe Biden emphasized the urgency of the climate crisis, stating, “The ‍time for half-measures is over.⁤ We must act decisively to protect our planet for future generations.” His administration unveiled⁤ a extensive plan that ⁣includes massive investments in renewable energy, electric vehicle infrastructure, and carbon capture technologies.

The⁢ European Union also made significant ⁤strides, with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European ‍Commission,⁤ announcing a 55% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. ⁤”this is not just about meeting targets,” von der Leyen said.‌ “It’s about creating‍ a sustainable future for our ⁢children and grandchildren.”

Developing ‍nations, often overlooked⁣ in global climate discussions, also made their voices heard. India, for instance, pledged to increase its renewable energy capacity‍ to 500 gigawatts by 2030 and ensure that 50% of its energy needs come from renewable sources. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of equitable solutions, stating, “Climate ⁣action must ‌not come ⁤at the cost of economic growth. We need sustainable development that benefits all.”

The Road Ahead: Challenges and Opportunities

While the summit’s outcomes were⁣ largely positive, experts warn that translating these ambitious goals into action will be a monumental task. Dr.Jane Smith, a leading climate‍ scientist, noted, “The commitments are a great start, but the real work begins now. We need to ensure that these plans are implemented effectively and that they address ‍the root causes of climate change.”

One of the major challenges will be securing the necessary funding. Developing countries, in particular, ⁢face significant hurdles in transitioning to renewable energy. ‌the summit ‍saw the launch of a new ‌global fund ⁣aimed at providing financial support to these nations, but questions remain about its long-term sustainability and accessibility.

Despite these ⁤challenges, the summit has reignited hope among environmental advocates. “This is the most significant step forward we’ve seen in decades,”‌ said Sarah Johnson, ‌CEO of Green Earth Alliance. “If these commitments are⁣ followed through, ⁢we ⁤could see a real ‍difference in the fight against climate change.”

impact on the U.S.‌ and Beyond

For the United states, the summit’s outcomes could have far-reaching implications. The Biden administration’s plan to invest in renewable energy is expected to create millions of jobs and stimulate economic growth. Additionally, the focus on electric vehicles and infrastructure could position the U.S. as a global leader in green technology.

globally, the summit’s success could pave the way for more coordinated efforts to address climate change. By setting clear targets and fostering international cooperation, world leaders have taken a crucial step toward mitigating the worst ⁢effects of global warming.

As the world looks to the future, the Global Climate ⁣Summit stands as a testament to the power of collective action. With ambitious goals and a shared ⁣commitment to sustainability, there is hope that the planet can be preserved for generations to come.

Dren and ensuring that ⁣Europe remains a global leader in the fight against climate change.” The ‍EU’s plan includes a comprehensive overhaul of its energy grid, increased funding⁤ for green‍ technologies, and stricter regulations on industrial ‌emissions.

China, the world’s largest‌ emitter of carbon ‍dioxide, also pledged significant reductions,⁣ with President‍ Xi Jinping announcing a goal ⁣of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. “China is committed to walking the talk,” Xi said. “We will⁢ accelerate the transition to a green and low-carbon economy.” The chinese plan ⁤focuses on scaling⁢ up renewable energy projects, improving energy efficiency, and phasing ⁣out coal-fired power plants.

India, another ⁢major contributor to global‍ emissions, unveiled a plan to install 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030 and reduce the carbon intensity of its⁢ economy by 45%.⁤ Prime Minister Narendra‍ Modi emphasized‍ the importance of international cooperation, stating,⁤ “Climate change is a global challenge that requires a global ⁢response. we must work together to build‌ a sustainable future.”

Smaller nations also made significant commitments, with ‌the Pacific island nation of Fiji pledging to‍ become carbon-neutral by 2035. “Our very survival depends on⁣ the success of global climate action,” said Fiji’s Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama. “We ⁣cannot afford to wait.”

The summit also saw ‌the launch of the Global⁣ Climate Fund, a multi-billion-dollar initiative ‍aimed‍ at supporting developing countries in⁤ their transition to clean energy. The fund, which will be administered ‌by the United Nations, is expected to provide financial and technical assistance to countries that are moast vulnerable ⁤to the impacts of climate change.

In addition to the national commitments, the summit also highlighted the role⁤ of the private sector in driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. Major corporations,⁤ including Apple, Google, and Microsoft, announced ambitious sustainability goals, with plans to achieve carbon neutrality across their ‌supply chains by 2030.

The Global Climate Summit has been ⁣hailed as a ⁢turning point in the global fight against climate change. However, critics argue that the commitments ⁢made by world leaders are not enough to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, the target set by the Paris Agreement. “We⁣ need to see immediate action,”⁣ said UN Secretary-General António Guterres.”The clock‍ is ticking, and‍ the stakes ⁣could not ⁤be higher.”

As⁢ the world moves forward, the success of‌ these ambitious goals will depend on ‌the collective effort of governments, businesses, and individuals. The Global Climate Summit has set the stage for a new era of environmental ⁤obligation, but the hard ‍work of implementation⁣ lies ahead.
