The Ukrainian delegation was clear about their stance on peace guarantees.”We were clear about our position on the guarantees, because it is very meaningful to us that this war ends in a just peace, that we have very strong legal and labor guarantees,” Yermak said. He added, “In our experience, unluckily, all the guarantees that we had until now, security was not really guaranteed to us because this war happened.”
Preparatory consultations with trump’s team before the inauguration were highlighted as a positive step. Yermak noted that this would enable both parties to begin addressing specific issues instantly after January 20. The primary focus remains achieving a just peace to end the war.
“I believe it is in accordance with Ukrainian regulations. because all that Ukraine needs is the restoration of international law, it is the restoration of our territorial integrity. And this is what we mean when we talk about a just peace,” Yermak emphasized.
