Bulgaria Allocates €2.8 Million More for Burgas Children’s Hospital

In a move to bolster pediatric healthcare in Bulgaria, the Council of Ministers has approved a​ significant‍ financial boost for the construction‍ of a new children’s hospital in Burgas. The ‍decision greenlights an ⁣additional transfer of 5,506,596 Bulgarian Lev⁤ (BGN) from the city’s municipal budget to the⁣ national coffers.

These funds will be allocated thru capital expenditure within‍ the 2024​ national budget. The Multispecialty Hospital for Active Treatment of Children’s Diseases “St. Anastasia,” as it will ​be known,⁤ is a top ‍priority project within Bulgaria’s Investment Program for National Projects.

“The treatment facility for children only has been identified as a ‍high priority in the Investment Program for National Projects and will⁣ provide highly ⁤specialized and complex treatment for these patients​ in a single, modernly equipped⁣ hospital facility ‍and will contribute to improving the⁢ timeliness and quality of pediatric care provided both for the⁣ area Burgas, and also for the entire Southeast region of Bulgaria,” the Council of Ministers stated.
