In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Burgas municipal councilors once again answered the call to donate blood, ensuring a sufficient supply for the holiday season.This initiative,spearheaded by Dr. Svetoslav Todorov, deputy chairman of the local parliament and deputy director of UMBAL Burgas, marks the second consecutive year of this generous act.
“I started this initiative last year with the aim of providing enough blood for the upcoming holidays and as a gesture of gratitude to the voters in Burgas,” Dr. todorov explained.
The blood drive took place just before the solemn session commemorating Burgas Day – Nicholas Day. Joining Dr. Todorov were fellow councilors Krasimir batilov, Todor Ivanov, and Milen Georgiev, along with deputy mayor Mihail Nenov, senior rehabilitator Kalin Boschev, and representatives from the Rotary Club “Burgas Primorye” - prof. Sotir Sotirov, Kristiyan Milchev, and Dian Dinev.
Adding to the spirit of giving, the Burgazlii family also dedicated this day to a free blood donation campaign.
Remarkably, from the start of 2024 to date, 8,547 individuals have generously donated blood at the Department of Transfusion Hematology of UMBAL Burgas.
