Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan Call It Quits After One Year
The entertainment world is buzzing with the news that actress and singer Sabrina Carpenter and Academy Award-nominated actor Barry Keoghan have ended their romantic relationship. Sources confirmed the split to People magazine on Tuesday, December 3rd, citing the demands of their flourishing careers as a contributing factor.
"They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break," said the insider.
Carpenter, 25, and Keoghan, 32, first sparked dating rumors towards the tail end of 2022. Their relationship became public knowledge in March when they made a stylish appearance together at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
Interestingly, Keoghan had a starring role in the music video for Carpenter’s chart-topping single "Please Please Please," featured on her hit album Short n’ Sweet. The album, released on August 23rd, led many fans to speculate that Carpenter had penned some of the heartfelt tracks about the Irish actor, particularly the song "Bed Chem."
Lyrics like "I was in a sheer dress the day that we met / We were both in a rush, we talked for a sec" and "Who’s the cute boy with the white jacket and the thick accent? … Who’s the cute guy with the wide, blue eyes?", fueled those suspicions.
Just last month, Keoghan appeared on the popular podcast The Louis Theroux Podcast. When asked directly about his relationship with Carpenter, he responded with a playful laugh, "Oh, I knew you’d do this,” but then added, "Listen, all I’m going to say is I’m incredibly blessed. Such a strong, independent lady who’s massively talented and yeah. Pretty special.”
Fans were taken aback by the news of the split, expressing their surprise and sending messages of support on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram.
This development marks another high-profile break-up in Hollywood, leaving fans and gossip columns alike speculating about the future for both Carpenter and Keoghan.
