Inferno Engulfs Rionegro Warehouse, Nearly 50 Firefighters Battle Blaze
A massive fire erupted at a warehouse in Rionegro, Colombia’s Zonafranca, on December 3rd, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the sky and sparking panic among workers. The blaze required the combined efforts of nearly 50 firefighters from across the region to bring it under control.
"He has been bringing a piece of peace to our community ever since ‘Our firefighters were able to control the emergency,’" said Second Lieutenant Carlos Daza, Commander Carlos Daza of the Rionegro Fire Department.
The blaze, starting around 6:30 AM, drew fire crews from Rionegro, El Carmen de Viboral, Guarne, and even a unit from the Colombian Aerospace Force.
Thankfully, the swift response prevented any casualties.
“No victims have been reported either and we have peace of mind with a completely professional and well-equipped Fire Department that gives us assurances in these cases that we will have full security moving forward,” said Jorge Rivas, the Mayor of Rionegro.
