KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Guitarist ADAM DUTKIEWICZ And Ex-Singer HOWARD JONES Announce Name Of New Project

Heavy Metal Legends Unleash New Project: BURN ETERNAL

The Heavier side of the music world is buzzing with excitement as former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones and guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz have officially unveiled their collaborative project: BURN ETERNAL. After two years of dedicated work, the duo celebrated a major milestone: the completion of their debut album’s mixing process.

Jones sparked the announcement with a lighthearted post on social media featuring a picture of himself and Dutkiewicz enjoying a Thai lunch. He shared, “It’s been a busy year for us, but we finally have our album mixed. Our schedules have caused this to take longer than expected, thanks for bearing with us. Back to work. We are BURN ETERNAL. See you soon.”

In a recent interview with TotalRock’s Louder show, Dutkiewicz revealed the surprisingly simple genesis of BURN ETERNAL: “ [Howard] just hit me up. He was, like, ‘Why don’t you write some music for me?’ And I was, like, ‘Sure.’ So yeah, we’re working on a record right now."

While the exact release date remains shrouded in mystery, Dutkiewicz hinted at the possibility of a single dropping soon. He elaborated, “I’ve got so much on my plate right now. It’s really hard to schedule anything particularly, like ‘it’s gonna come out at this point,’ ‘it’s gonna come out at this point,’ but we’re just almost at a situation where we can maybe release a single. But I think the entire record’s gonna take a little bit longer than expected.”

The complexity of scheduling stems from Dutkiewicz’s dual responsibilities, as he’s simultaneously working on Killswitch Engage’s next album. This double duty underscores the commitment both artists have to their respective projects.

This collaboration marks a significant reunion for Jones and Dutkiewicz, who previously rocked the metal scene together in Killswitch Engage. Jones departed the band in 2012 to focus on his mental health, a journey he has openly discussed in interviews. After his departure, he formed the successful project Devil You Know (later renamed Light the Torch), proving his enduring strength as a vocalist.

Interestingly, Jones contributed guest vocals to Killswitch Engage’s 2019 album "Atonement," hinting at possible renewed camaraderie with his former bandmates.

With BURN ETERNAL poised to unleash its fiery debut, metal fans worldwide eagerly await the powerful soundscape Jones and Dutkiewicz are forging. The project promises to showcase the duo’s combined musical prowess and raw energy, potentially presenting a powerful new chapter in their illustrious careers.
