VR Gamers to Experience a Delay: Skydance’s Behemoth to Receive Post-Launch Patch on Quest
Exciting times lie ahead for VR enthusiasts. Skydance Interactive’s highly anticipated title, "Behemoth," is set to launch this Thursday, December 5th, promising an immersive gaming experience. However, Meta Quest users will face a slight delay in experiencing the game’s full potential, requiring a day-seven patch compared to the simultaneous day-one patch for PlayStation VR2.
This difference stems from recent setbacks experienced by Skydance Games. A spokesperson explained:
"Skydance’s Behemoth launches this Thursday, Dec. 5, with a day-one patch for PlayStation and a day-seven patch for Meta Quest headsets."
The studio attributed the discrepancy to "a cascading hardware failure that delayed testing and certification across all platforms." Thankfully, they have since recovered from these technical hurdles and are gearing up for the game’s release.
Further complicating the picture is the status of "Behemoth" on PC VR platforms.
Skydance confirmed it’s coming on PC this week via Quest Link, stating “additional PC VR platforms” will follow at a later date. Skydance stated it would share an update on PC VR and Steam “in the coming weeks” but we’ve yet to learn more.
While the game will debut on PC via Quest Link, the wait continues for dedicated PC VR releases, including a potential Steam launch. The studio remains tight-lipped about the specifics, leaving PC VR gamers hanging for now.
Despite these hiccups, the anticipation surrounding "Behemoth" remains high. As the launch date approaches, gamers eagerly await the chance to dive into this thrilling VR experience, even with the minor delay for Quest users.
Stay tuned for further updates on "Behemoth" as more details emerge, and prepare to enter a world of immersive adventure!
