## Samsung Brings Long-Awaited Wear OS 5 Upgrade to Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch FE
After months of anticipation from users, Samsung is finally rolling out its highly anticipated One UI 6 Watch update, based on Wear OS 5, to both the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch FE. This update, which brings exciting new features, design tweaks, and performance improvements to the smartwatches, was initially available only on the latest Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra models.
The rollout has been swift, with Bluetooth variants of the Galaxy Watch 5 receiving the update in various European countries in recent hours. Reports have flooded online forums like Reddit, confirming the update’s availability. Interestingly, the rollout has also reached the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro in Malaysia.
“Finally! Watch 5 (44mm BT) CzechiA,” exclaimed one user on Reddit, highlighting the excitement surrounding the update.
However, the rollout isn’t entirely uniform. While the Galaxy Watch 5 is receiving the Wear OS 5 upgrade, some regions still don’t have it available for the Galaxy Watch 6, even though it launched in the US and other territories last month.
Not to be left out, the budget-friendly Galaxy Watch FE is also joining the Wear OS 5 party. While the rollout seems primarily focused on Europe, users are reporting receiving the update in various regions.
“It is here! Galaxy Watch FE Hungary,” confirmed one thrilled user on Reddit. The Galaxy Watch FE, launched earlier this year as a more affordable option, helped make Samsung’s smartwatches accessible to a wider audience. It essentially offered a refreshed Galaxy Watch 4 experience with a few key upgrades. Interestingly, the original Galaxy Watch 4 hasn’t yet received widespread access to the One UI 6 Watch update, although some Korean users have reportedly received it, according to GSMArena.
