Deccan Gladiators Claim Third T10 Title, Cementing Legacy
Morrisville, NC – The Deccan Gladiators dominated the Abu Dhabi T10 final on Monday, crushing the Samp Army by eight wickets with a stunning display of aggressive batting.
This victory marks the third T10 championship for the Gladiators, solidifying their position as the most decorated team in the tournament’s history.
"This time Deccan took its own record," a statement read.
The Gladiators’ triumph was spearheaded by an explosive innings from Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who remained unbeaten on 56 runs off just 21 balls. His onslaught included five boundaries and four towering sixes, leaving the Samp Army bowlers powerless.
"He scored 28 runs off 10 balls," the stats revealed, underlining the impactful contribution of Nicholas Puran, who built a crucial 51-run partnership with Cadmore.
Earlier, Riley Rousseau’s 44-run partnership with Cadmore set the foundation for Deccan’s soaring chase. The Gladiators eventually surpassed the Samp Army’s total of 104 runs for the loss of only two wickets in a mere 6.5 overs.
Despite a valiant effort by Faf du Plessis, who scored a valuable 34 runs, and Andreas Gause, who chipped in with 21 runs, the Samp Army’s total proved insufficient against the Deccan’s relentless batting assault.
Richard Gleeson, named man of the match, shone with both bat and ball, smashing 16 runs off a mere two deliveries before claiming two crucial wickets.
The Deccan Gladiators’ victory is a testament to their dominance in the T10 format. With a third title under their belt, they solidify their claim as a force to be reckoned with in the world of franchise cricket.
