Fashion Designer Accuses Sean "Diddy" Combs of Balcony Threat
Fashion designer Bryana "Bana" Bongolan has filed a lawsuit against music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, alleging a horrifying incident where she was allegedly dangled over a 17th-story balcony. Bongolan, who was a friend of Combs’ ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, is seeking $10 million in damages.
The lawsuit, filed last week, paints a chilling picture of Combs’ alleged behavior. Bongolan claims she witnessed numerous instances of abuse directed towards Ventura during her time collaborating with Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment. One particularly disturbing incident, she alleges, involved Combs throwing kitchen knives at Ventura, who responded by hurling one back at him.
Bongolan says Combs’ threatening behavior extended to her as well. In her lawsuit, she recounted an encounter where Combs cornered her and reportedly said, “I’m the motherfucking devil. … You have no idea what I could do to you. I could kill you."
Bongolan claims that she had reason to believe these threats were real, citing Combs’ alleged assaults against Ventura and rumors circulating about him “skinning a rival’s dog.”
The terrifying balcony incident unfolded in September 2016. According to Bongolan’s account, she was sleeping over Ventura’s apartment with her girlfriend when they heard Combs violently shouting and banging on the door. While Bongolan instructed her girlfriend to hide in the bathroom, Combs entered the apartment and, upon finding Bongolan on the balcony, allegedly grabbed her and groped her breasts.
As Bongolan struggled against Combs, he allegedly lifted her up on the balcony’s railing and repeatedly yelled, "Do you know what the fuck you did? Do you know what the fuck you did?" He then allegedly lifted her even higher, threatening to drop her from the 17th floor, before Ventura emerged from her locked bedroom and screamed at Combs to stop.
"Recognizing the threat of so many witnesses to his assault, [Combs] pulled Ms. Bongolan back over the balcony,” the lawsuit documents. “But he did not release her. In a last fit of violence, he slammed Ms. Bongolan onto the balcony’s patio furniture, including a table.”
Bongolan’s lawsuit claims Combs’ actions were intended to terrify and control her. "The only purpose of dangling someone over a balcony is to actually kill them or to intentionally terrorize them and rob them of any concept of dominion over their own bodily autonomy and safety,” the lawsuit states.
Combs denies all allegations.
"Anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, regardless of the evidence they may or may not have," a legal representative for Combs told Rolling Stone. “Since last year, Ms. Bongolan has expressed an intention to sue Mr. Combs and has sought legal representation to pursue her claims. Mr. Combs firmly denies these serious allegations and remains confident they will ultimately be proven baseless.”
This is not the first time Combs has faced such accusations. Ventura herself filed a sexual abuse lawsuit against him, which was later settled. Since then, numerous other lawsuits alleging sexual and physical assault have been brought against Combs.
Combs was recently arrested on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
A judge recently denied Combs bail for a third time, citing "compelling evidence of Combs’s propensity for violence" as a reason to keep him incarcerated.
