Knocked Loose Slams Onto Late Night TV, Igniting Controversy
Hardcore juggernaut Knocked Loose recently shattered television norms with a fiery performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The appearance, featuring a collaborative rendition of their Grammy-nominated track "Suffocate" with pop singer Poppy, sent shockwaves through the late-night landscape, leaving some viewers bewildered while others hailed it as a triumph.
Frontman Bryan Garris, clearly riding a wave of momentum, shared his jubilation on Instagram, reflecting on the band’s meteoric rise: "The other day Knocked Loose performed on [@jimmykimmellive]." he wrote. "For a long time now our goal has been to see how far we could squeeze this band into places where we don’t fit and I think this may be the biggest one. National television. It feels like the ceiling gets higher for EVERYONE, every single day. We celebrate this together. Thank you so much.”
The performance, however, wasn’t without its detractors. Reports surfaced of viewers expressing outrage and discomfort over the band’s aggressive style. One viewer, quoted by The Mirror, claimed that Knocked Loose’s sound “reduced their teenage son to tears.” Others took aim at Garris’s intense vocal delivery, demanding apologies from Kimmel.
Garris, seemingly undeterred by the controversy, offered a succinct but pointed response: "PS if it scared you, good.”
The storm surrounding their Kimmel appearance arrives as Knocked Loose prepares for another landmark moment:
they are up for the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance, joining heavyweights Metallica, Gojira, Judas Priest, and Spiritbox in a battle for metal supremacy. The winner will be revealed at the Los Angeles ceremony on February 2nd.
