Honor Unveils New 300 Series Smartphones, Emphasizing Cutting-Edge Portrait Photography
The Chinese tech giant, Honor, just debuted a trio of new smartphones in its popular 300 series. The Honor 300, 300 Pro, and 300 Ultra, all boasting impressive 50MP main cameras and revolutionary 50MP cameras for selfies, aim to redefine the smartphone portrait experience.
"You don’t call yourself a ‘Portrait Master’ without some good imaging hardware," the company stated.
The high-end 300 Pro steals the show with its vibrant 6.78-inch OLED display, which boasts a stunning 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. This ensures an incredibly smooth viewing experience even in bright sunlight.

But the real stars are the cameras. Headlining the 300 Pro’s rear camera system are two 50MP shooters: a main sensor with a large 1/1.56" size and a versatile 3x telephoto lens. Interestingly, Honor chose to use the same Sony IMX856 sensor found in their highly acclaimed Honor 200 Pro. A 12MP ultrawide lens with autofocus rounds out the powerful camera setup.

"The Pro and Ultra models utilize yesterday’s best chipset — the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. [They] come with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage."
Both the 300 Pro and the Ultra models are powered by the blazing-fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. They offer a choice of 12GB or 16GB of RAM and come equipped with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Honor hasn’t left out the software side. The phones run on the latest Android 15, enhanced with their own MagicOS 9.0. This includes AI-powered features designed specifically for photography, such as removing unwanted objects from images, transforming them into cartoons, digitally expanding the scene content, and even retouching faces using AI prompts.
And when it’s time to power down, the 5,300mAh battery provides all-day use. Both the 300 Pro and 300 Ultra boast impressive charging speeds: 100W wired charging and a groundbreaking 80W wireless charging.
The standard Honor 300 focuses on delivering excellent value. While it maintains the impressive 50MP main and selfie cameras and includes a 12MP ultrawide lens with autofocus, it opts for the capable Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. Configurations include 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM, offering users a choice to suit their needs. Delivery is expected in early August.
