Sciences Po Grenoble Students Score Win Against Islamophobia

The NPA conference brought together 210 delegates this weekend in Saint-Denis, representing 2,013 party members. Platform A received 91 votes, or 6.21%, platform B 711 votes, or 48.50%, and platform C 664 votes, or 45.29% (ie 47 gap votes). It was held a few months after the entire NPA spearheaded the NPA presidential campaign, a campaign that contributed to a new influx towards the NPA, in one year, of over 500 activists , young people, educators or workers who joined the ranks. of the party.

Despite these steps forward, part of the NPA leadership chose to leave the conference before any vote, including the decisive orientation votes, to pursue a policy of its own towards the NUPES and its main part of the LFI, which was initiated in the 2021 regional elections in New. Aquitaine and Occitanie, and confirmed at the legislative elections 2022 votes, while the party had sent 210 representatives to this conference. The few separatists from the outgoing leadership chose to try to explode the party against the democratic vote of the activists who, however, in their elected assemblies, had voted in large numbers -some for a clear motion to “continue with the NPA”. or by voting in the majority for platforms that rejected the division, including our platform C. This platform is largely in the majority in the sector the youth of the NPA, in many professional branches (transport, post office, auto, etc.) and important regional alliances (Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Rouen, etc.).

This choice is irresponsible, especially since the national and international situation demands that revolutions close their ranks and advance visions of revolutionary liberation for the world. – work and the youth. Let them come together rather than separate. But the NPA will continue, despite the departure of its main spokesmen. We, representatives of the “News and crisis of the revolution” platform, which collected almost half of the party’s votes, accept this responsibility towards the entire NPA, its committees, federations and its branches regardless of the votes in Congress. From Monday, we will bring together all the NPA authorities.

We are asking the activists of our party, behind the majority who spoke against the separation, to continue building the NPA with us. And furthermore, together with us, out of international responsibility, to fight against the division of the extreme left and the revolutionary movement on a global level. The NPA has always thought of itself as a center for bringing revolution together, into a revolutionary workers’ party. And employees.

Here in France, the world of work is under attack from employers and the government. Workers, including the most vulnerable, unemployed, retired, disabled people are hit hard. With inflation exceeding 6% at an annual rate, wages are being cut a little more every day, and new sacrifices are being promised to the working classes: for many, it is a question of being hungry and cold, without electricity and heat, this winter. . For the beginning of 2023, it is announced that prices for public transport, highway tolls, post office, etc. will increase. And the government is launching its attack against the amount of old people’s pensions, among other things by raising the legal retirement age.

This autumn has already been marked by a large number of movements and strikes, for a wage increase, scattered and isolated but nevertheless determined. The national strike meeting on October 18th, of support for the refinery strikers but also of anger against Macron and his government who wanted to demand them, showed that it was possible for anger to explode. There is an urgent need to prepare for movements and their generalization, the only thing capable of changing the balance of power and eliminating these employer and government attacks: for an increase in wages and pensions of 400 net euros per month for all , no income below 2,000 euros and systematic alignment of salary with prices, for full-scale retirement by applying for up to 37 and a half years and from age 60. It is really a matter of forcing a division of labor between all – to work for all and work less -, without a reduction in wages, with, on on the other hand, salaries that follow the cost of living. Alongside the demand to uproot these vital demands is anger at the growing deterioration of health, education and transport conditions, as well as the ecological damage that is wreaking havoc. the everyday life of the working classes and young people. These demands for another life, not sacrificed to profits, are obtained through class struggle, through a total response from the world of work and not from institutions. It is not in the parliament or in the fairs of social dialogue that the world of work will be able to achieve victories. There will not be, as the FI defends, capitalism with a human face, or a citizen revolution through the ballot box. We reaffirm that it is necessary and possible to build a revolutionary party, because the leaders will not be pushed back and in the end wrestle power from them through elections. In the future, the NPA will prioritize the building of movements, with everyone, and there are many around us, organized politically, in unions or associations, and even more numerous that are not organized, will want to go this way. We will show in the NPA march at the Solidarity March on December 18, which we will be asking people to join en masse.

By continuing to grow in abusive currents and ideas of the extreme right, nationalist and racist, widely accepted by the right and by the government itself, in the face of the war and the upheaval that is society capitalism brings us, we have a special responsibility. towards our social class, a duty to help him to have confidence in his own strengths to fight on his own ground and escape from institutional deception. While the world of work shows its strength in blocking the whole society when it goes on strike. A restraining force but a reorganizing force of the whole society, if the proletarians in struggle push further and organize themselves to lay down the foundations of their own power.

The international situation also demands our responsibilities. Strikes and strike waves broke out in various countries, including England. In general, we are witnessing an unprecedented wave of social protests on a large scale. In 2019, less than ten years after the Arab uprisings of 2011, we have experienced the resurgence of mass protests: in the four corners of the world and today in Iran and China. They contribute to the great struggles of women for the right to abortion and against sexual and sexual violence, to the struggles for LGBTI rights, to the struggle of young and old for the climate and against Racism.

At a time when real threats of militarization and authoritarian hardening of regimes against the working classes are looming, but when reactions and possibilities for consolidation are showing themselves to our class almost everywhere in the world , it’s time to live in what a revolutionary pole did. To bring together those forces, a minority but nevertheless real, which are campaigning for the overthrow of the revolutionary system. A capitalist system that is gathering evidence that it has not satisfied the needs of humanity, and today, among the eight billion people, a majority is kept on the brink of survival.

We speak to all workers, young and old, revolted by the system of capitalist exploitation and its march of misery, wars and oppression: join us to overthrow it and let’s all stand together on the front from the news scene and the crisis of the revolution!

## A Revolutionary‍ Crossroads: Interview with “News and Crisis of the Revolution”‌ Platform

**World-Today-News: The recent NPA conference ⁣saw a close contest between its three platforms, with Platform C, championed by your group‍ “News and Crisis of the Revolution,” securing almost half the vote. Could you elaborate on the key differences between your platform and the other two?**

**”News and Crisis of the Revolution”:** Our‌ platform emphasizes the need for a strong, united revolutionary party focused on addressing⁢ the immediate concerns of workers and young peopel. We believe the NPA must play a central role in organizing⁣ and amplifying the rising anger ⁣against the government’s ‍austerity⁤ measures and employer attacks. Platforms A and B, while differing in their approaches, ultimately endorse a strategy of engagement with the broader left, including the NUPES alliance, which we believe dilutes our revolutionary vision and impedes self-reliant working-class mobilization.

**World-Today-News: The closing stages of the conference saw some leaders leaving en masse, seemingly in opposition to the democratic vote. What‌ are your thoughts on this development, and how are you addressing it?**

**”News and Crisis of the Revolution”:** This act is deeply irresponsible, especially given the current dire⁢ straits facing ⁤the working class. While we respect differing viewpoints within the party, prioritizing personal agendas over⁤ the expressed will of the membership undermines the very⁣ democratic principles ⁣the NPA stands for.We, representing almost half the party’s voting base, are committed to upholding ‌the ‌democratic outcome of the conference and continuing the NPA’s vital work.

**World-Today-News: You’ve‌ mentioned the urgent challenges facing French workers today: ⁣inflation, attacks on wages and pensions, and deteriorating public⁢ services. What concrete proposals dose your platform offer to address these issues?**

**”News and Crisis of the Revolution”:** We propose a bold and unapologetic ‍program centered on workers’ needs. This includes:

*⁤ **A 400 euro net increase in‌ wages and pensions for all**,ensuring a minimum income of 2,000 euros.

* **Systematic salary ⁣adjustments to match inflation.**

* **Full retirement benefits attainable after 37.5⁢ years of work or at age 60**, whichever comes first.

* **A radical reduction in working hours without wage cuts**, aimed at fostering a better work-life balance and sharing wealth more⁢ equitably.

* **Crucially, these demands must‌ be pursued through mass mobilization and direct action**, recognizing that relying on parliamentary maneuvering or social dialog will ultimately fail to deliver meaningful ‌change.

**World-Today-News: The NPA has historically positioned itself as a champion⁣ of revolutionary unity. In light of⁣ the recent ‍divisions, how do you see the party moving forward and contributing to the broader struggles facing the working class both nationally and internationally?**

**”News and‌ Crisis of the Revolution”:** We remain firmly⁣ committed to the NPA’s founding ⁢principle of revolutionary unity. We believe that building a strong, independent, and truly revolutionary workers’‍ party is crucial not only in France but across the globe. The struggles of workers and the youth are interconnected, and international solidarity‌ is paramount in confronting the exploitative structures of capitalism. we are ‍open to collaborating with all forces genuinely dedicated to empowering the working class and achieving a more just and equitable world. However, this cooperation must be based on mutual respect, shared revolutionary⁣ principles, and a commitment to ‍grassroots organizing and direct⁤ action. Together, we can forge a path towards a brighter future for all.
