The starting signal for voting was given by Jan-Willem Roodbeen and Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte, together with a number of ‘Top 2000 babies’: listeners who listened during the past 25 editions of the Top 2000 were born. In their morning show, Jan-Willem and Jeroen talked to these listeners about the song that was heard during their birth.
Voters can submit a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 35 songs of their own choice until Friday, December 6, 4 p.m. via nporadio2.nl. During the Voting Final Day on Friday, December 6, the top 10 will be announced between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Top 2000 from 2024. The entire list will be revealed on Friday, December 13.

During Voting Week, NPO Radio 2’s morning show with Jan-Willem Roodbeen and Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte comes every working day (6 a.m. to 9 a.m.) from the Top 2000 Stembus and cafés in the country. In their program they receive well-known artists for live performances. During the day, NPO Radio 2 regularly switches to the Stembus that drives through the country. Annemieke Schollaardt, Daniël Lippens and Paul Rabbering can also be heard alternately from the Ballot Box.

The broadcast of the Top 2000 starts on Tuesday, December 24 at 11 p.m. with a new opening show, lasting one hour, by Bart Arens. The broadcast of the list will then start at 00:00. The number one can traditionally be heard on New Year’s Eve just before New Year’s Eve.
Top 2000 Coffee
The Top 2000 Café in Sound & Vision in Hilversum can again be visited physically and virtually for seven days, 24 hours a day, during the broadcast of the list. Ticket sales for a live visit to the Top 2000 Café start Saturday, December 7 at 10 a.m. via nporadio2.nl. Admission tickets are only available online. During the broadcast of the list via the NPO Radio 2 site, the public can make video calls at the touch of a button to be present in the Top 2000 Café via TV screens.

Of NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 is one of the largest radio and music events in the Netherlands, which approximately 10 million people watch and listen to every year. The list of lists is compiled every year by the public. The 26th Top 2000 can be seen and heard from Christmas Eve at 11 p.m. until New Year’s Eve. The broadcast from the Top 2000 Café in Beeld & Geluid in Hilversum can be followed 24 hours a day via NPO Radio 2, nporadio2.nl, NPO 1 extra and at night on NPO 3. ## Interview with a Top 2000 Super Fan
**World Today News** sits down with Meike van der Meer, one of the “Top 2000 babies” chosen to kick off voting for this year’s edition of the Dutch beloved music countdown.
**World Today News (WTN):** Meike, thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us what it was like to be part of the official start of the Top 2000 voting process?
**Meike van der Meer:** It was unbelievable! Being considered a “Top 2000 baby” already feels special, knowing you were born during the broadcast of such an iconic show. But then to be invited to the studio, meet Jan-Willem and Jeroen, and be part of that official signal…it was truly unforgettable. It felt like the countdown was truly ”coming alive” for the new year.
**WTN:** You were born during one of the previous editions of the Top 2000. What song was playing at the moment you entered the world?
**Meike:** Funny enough, it was “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen! It’s such a classic, and now it has this extra layer of meaning for me.
**WTN:** Does that make the song even more special to you?
**Meike:** Absolutely! It’s always been a favourite, but now it feels like more than just a great song. It’s a reminder of my arrival into the world, a soundtrack to my very first moments.
**WTN:** As someone who grew up with the ”Top 2000″ being a yearly tradition, are there any songs you feel are essential for the countdown every year?
**Meike:** Oh, there are so many! But I think classics like “Imagine” by John Lennon, “Stairway to Heaven” by led Zeppelin, and “Hotel California” by the Eagles should always be there. They’re timeless!
**WTN :** What are you most looking forward to about this year’s Top 2000?
**Meike:** Honestly,the excitement and anticipation are already building up! I can’t wait to see which songs rise in the rankings,hear the stories they unleash,and most importantly,experience the collective joy of music uniting everyone during the holidays.
**WTN:** What would you say to encourage people who haven’t voted yet?
**meike:** Don’t wait! This is more than just a music countdown; it’s a national event that brings us together. vote for the songs that matter to you, the ones that evoke memories, and let’s create a playlist that represents the sounds of our year!
