Space, agri-food, biodiversity, academic exchanges… Dense program for the ULiège delegation and meeting with our alumni.
Five members of the University of Liège (ULiège) are participating in the princely economic mission to Brazil until November 29:
ULiège members participate in programs in their areas of expertise
- A program planned with Embraer and Sonaca for Skywin and aerospace players. Professor Ponthot participates in this program in his capacity as Director of the “Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering” research unit and Vice-President of Skywin.
- A program organized by Wagralim with various players in the agri-food sector, joined by professors Jijakli, Jacques and Haubruge. They participate in this program and intervene in certain events. The Smart Gastronomy Lab, founded by Professor Haubruge, is integrated into the Wallonie Entreprendre ecosystem for the development of new food products for businesses. Mr. Haubruge is developing a project to promote new food products from the Amazon.
- An academic program, with visits to several universities in the two cities, namely USP (University of Sao Paulo), UNESP, a meeting with FAUBAI (group of Brazilian universities), FAPESP (Research Funding Agency and innovation of the State of Sao Paulo) and the UFF (Fluminense Federal University, State of Rio de Janeiro). It is in the context of these meetings that Vice-Rector Frédéric Schoenaers speaks as representative of the Belgian academic world before the Vice-President of Brazil for a speech on collaborations in teaching and research.

This visit is an opportunity to talk about MOOCs and virtual exchange projects (via the Brazilian BRAVE program). In addition, the delegation meets on this occasion a ULiège alumnus who teaches at UNESP in Sciences (Rio Claro campus), the Professor Laurence Culot.
- A visit to the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). This meeting focuses more on the fields of engineering with a meeting with their COPPE unit in which a ULiège alumnus is also a professor, the Pr Jean-David Caprace.
