Rimini, 29 November 2024 – It began yesterday, with the preliminary investigation phase before the single judge of the Rimini court, the process by a doctor specialized in aesthetic medicine, operating in various centers in the province, in relation to which the hypothesis was formulated charge of aggravated bodily harm. It all started from the complaint presented by a former patient, a 40-year-old professional from Rimini, assisted bylawyer Chiara Lazzariniwho pointed the finger at the doctor by claiming to have undergone a photo rejuvenation treatment using pulsed light which however – due to what she herself defines as “serious incompetence of the healthcare professional” – would have caused “a strong overheating of her face and cheeks.” The woman who filed the complaint, in the complaint put in black and white through her lawyer, even talks about “abrasions and burns” cwhich would cause her severe discomfort from a social and professional point of view, preventing her, for example, from being exposed to sunlight for a long time and therefore from going to the seaside. The doctor, defended bylawyer Christian Brighi of the Rimini Bar, firmly rejects the accusatory system.
The professional has years and years of proven experience in the sector behind him. It also claims to have always acted in full compliance with the health protocols and guidelines and that it would not be possible to recognize in any way a cause/effect link between the treatment he conducted and the skin reactions that subsequently affected the patient. Reconstruction also confirmed by the experts appointed by the defence. It all begins in February 2022, when the woman decides to go to the professional for a photo rejuvenation treatment. After signing the informed consent, he undergoes the procedure based on pulsed light but then – according to what she reported in the complaint – after a few minutes she felt “bleeding and a feeling of overheating and heat in the face and cheeks.” At first the woman doesn’t pay much attention to it but during the night – she continues – the pain increases. Frightened, she called the doctor “who advised me to take some medicines and that everything was normal”. Days still pass. The pain and burning apparently show no signs of easing. This is how the woman decides to go to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena. The report delivered by the doctors speaks of “thickening and edema of the subcutaneous soft tissues, in particular in the tempero-zygomatic, periorbital, perinasal and chin regions”.
The woman claims that during that period the marks on his face were extremely evident so much so as to prevent her from leaving the house to take care of her normal activities; Furthermore, even today they would continue to influence his life and work. For this reason, the complaint against the professional was accompanied by a request to compensation amounting to 75 thousand euros.
