Coast Guard, search for missing persons from the shipwreck at Cape Teulada

In the early afternoon, the Coast Guard informs, in the stretch of sea in front of the Capo Teulada military range area, an Italian Army patrol boat notified the Cagliari operations room of the recovery from the sea of ​​11 migrants, presumably of North African origin. A further migrant was intercepted on the nearby cliff and rescued by Army military personnel who intervened from the ground.
The migrants reported that they had left Algeria together with other compatriots on board a wooden boat which sank near the Sardinian coast. Search operations began immediately with the dispatch of the CP 320 patrol boat from the Port Authority of Cagliari, the CP 812 patrol boat of the Maritime District Office of Sant’Antioco, as well as two naval vessels of the Guardia di Finanza and two units fire brigade ships. The Nemo 11-06 helicopter of the Coast Guard took off from the Decimomannu base, a helicopter and a plane of the Guardia di Finanza as well as an Air Force helicopter were also used.
