New function on WhatsApp: Users are not entirely convinced

The latest feature introduced by WhatsApp allows users to recognize when they receive a message in a different way. Many people may have already noticed the three dots that appear above the chat field. In addition, it can now also be seen when a user is currently recording a voice message. Many see this as a useful feature, especially for group chats. When multiple people write a message at the same time, this can now be recognized – before the change only one name was displayed.

One user commented: “Oh my god the bubbles are really bouncing up and down.” Another user was even clearer: “I’m not a fan of the bubbles jumping back and forth when someone writes on WhatsApp. That’s always bothered me about iMessage.”

Some of the commenting users even expressed a desire to go back to the old animations: “Hello WhatsApp, can we just undo the changes? This jumping up and down of the points really gets annoying very quickly.” However, there were also users who were satisfied with the new function: “WhatsApp has finally removed the ‘writing’ message from the top and pushed it down where it belongs” , said one user happily. Another added: “I really like the new animation.” (rd)
