Tottenham-Roma, a match valid for the fifth day of the Europa League group, ended with a score of 2-2, the result of goals from Son on a penalty, Ndicka, Johnson and in the 91st minute from Hummels. Match refereed by Swede Glenn Nyberg.
Below are the votes for the protagonists of the match to understand the progress of the match.
Tottenham report cards
Fraser FORSTER 6,5 – Do what you can to protect your door. In the final he is monstrous on Mancini, but shortly afterwards he can do nothing on Hummels’ winning move.
Pedro PORRO 5.5 – When he supports the offensive maneuver it is often a factor. He also hits the crossbar on a free kick. Behind, however, he dances a lot with Angeliño and risks the omelette with a suicidal back pass.
Radu DRAGUSIN 6 – He doesn’t make big individual errors, even if on a collective level he trembles every time Roma get close to Forster’s area.
Am DAVIES 6 – Performance on the same level as Dragusin. Individually he doesn’t make many mistakes, but he doesn’t have a quiet night at all.
Archie GRAY 5,5 – Plays a match of pure substance, showing little in the opponent’s half of the pitch. For large stretches Celik suffers.
Pope SARR 6.5 – He earns a penalty straight away, with speed and cunning, and makes his presence felt in the middle of the pitch. He even comes close to scoring, but Svilar denies him (dal 69′ Yves BISSOUMA 5.5 – Enters a complicated context, with Roma chasing an equalizer)
Rodrigo BENTANCUR 6 – In the moments in which Tottenham are in control of the match they bring order and organisation, otherwise they suffer a bit. Risks red for a foul on Saelemaekers (valley 79′ Lucas BERGVALL sv)
Brennan JOHNSON 7 – On the right is a factor. Take part in the penalty action and many others. And in the end he even scores the 2-1 goal (dal 69′ James MADDISON 6 – Offers a couple of good plays)
Dejan KULUSEVSKI 7 – With the ball at his feet he is almost uncatchable. He hits a post, produces an assist with a kiss, and even comes close to scoring with his right foot. Drops in the second half.
Heung-min SON 7 – Ready-go and immediately scores with a perfect penalty. Delightful in practically everything he does, he even comes close to scoring a double, but Svilar tells him no. Half a vote less for the goal that was sensationally devoured in the first half (dal 77′ Timo WERNER s.v.)
Dominic SOLANKE 6 – Takes a while to refuel. He looks for the goal with a scissors kick, but finds Svilar. In the second half he entered the game more and hit the crossbar.
All. Ange POSTECOGLOU 6 – Little to say about his team’s offensive maneuvers, which were often appreciable and insightful. However, he cannot find a way to prevent a wounded but not dead Roma from returning to the game.
Roma’s report cards
Mile SVILAR 7 – Much of the credit, if Roma stays in the game, goes to him. Careful on Sarr, very good on Solanke and Son, then says no again to the center forward. Decisive.
Gianluca MANCINI 6 – He suffers a lot, like the others, from the advances of the home attackers. But somehow it resists. Only Forster, just before Hummels equalized, denied him a feat.
Mats HUMMELS 6 – The man of the match, given that he is the one who gave Roma a golden point. At the back he is far from good, however: he commits a penalty foul and is slow and out of time when he is targeted, as in the 2-1 draw.
Evan NDICKA 6,5 – He too has his work cut out for him with Johnson, with Kulusevski, with Pedro Porro. However, he has the merit of finding the goal that brings Roma back to the top.
Zeki CELIK 6.5 – Great ball for Dybala in a first half with ups and downs. In the second half he had a good and bad time on the right, sending Angeliño (crossbar) and Dovbyk (goal disallowed) shooting (long 65′ Nicola ZALEWSKI 6 – Also involved in Roma’s final assaults)
Manual CONNECT 6 – Another good performance in the middle of the pitch, between recoveries and playing together with the team. He sees a goal disallowed and has the 2-2 ball on his right, but sees it graze Forster’s post.
Leandro PAREDES 6 – Lights and shadows. Difficult first half, including a bad mistake that sends Sarr shooting. Better in the second half, in which he took more possession of the midfield and saved a goal from Johnson.
José ANGELIÑO 6.5 – Often caught by his teammates, he finds space and hits the crossbar. He doesn’t close on Johnson, who strikes him and scores. He made up for it in injury time with the winning assist for Hummels.
Paulo DYBALA 7 – He paints football for a while. He shoots, changes the game, scores Ndicka and also El Shaarawy, even if the latter’s goal is disallowed. He comes out at half-time (dal 46′ Matias SOULÉ 5.5 – Promises a lot, enters the action of the goal canceled out by Koné, then strangely goes out)
Stephan EL SHAARAWY 6 – I don’t continue during the course of the match, even if he scores a goal which, if validated, would rightfully be among the best of the Giallorossi’s start to the season (dal 69′ Alexis SAELEMAEKERS 6 – Brings fresh forces in the final part of the match and is an integral part of the 2-2 action)
Artem DOVBYK 5 – Roma’s foreign body, almost constantly out of the match. And he pays little attention to the offside line, as evidenced by the two goals disallowed in the second half.
Coach Claudio RANIERI 7 – Finally we saw a team worthy of the name. With heart, dedication and even good plots. Even without Hummels’ goal, it would have been a good starting point.
