A young university student died after going on a first date at a restaurant; Early reports revealed that she ate a dish she was allergic to.
According to his family, The tragic death occurred on May 4, 2023but they decided to echo it again because justice has not yet been done.
Through an interview with CBS Newsthe parents of Alison Pickering, 23, reported that The young university student knew she had a peanut allergy since she was in preschoolafter he suffered a hives, so they do not understand how he ate the food at his appointment.
“She said, ‘Well, a friend of mine shared a Jiff chocolate sandwich with me,’ and I was like, ‘Oh!’ (…) And it became evident that he had a peanut allergy.” said his mother, Joy Pickering.
They seek justice for Pickerin’s death because they asserted that The young woman, on the day of her death, requested a dish at the restaurant The man who was handed over to him was distant, but he became confident and then had allergic reactions that led to his death.
“She was always very, very careful (…) She rarely ate cookies that weren’t mine,” added the university student’s mother.
Furthermore, they pointed out Alison had prepared for her date by looking for a restaurant where she would be safe about her allergies..
Apparently the young woman had previously visited the restaurant and also tried the dish that caused her death, but on this occasion they added peanuts to her without first informing her.
The young woman’s family continues to demand answers from the restaurantin search of justice, while the restaurant owner has disputed claims that staff were unaware of the menu change.
