Last September AMUT completed the start-up of the second of three plants in Colombia for the SMI Group, a giant in the food and beverage industry in Latin America, with full customer satisfaction. SMI aims to grow in Colombia by offering a comprehensive and sustainable solution to meet environmental commitments and customer needs.
In Bogota, AMUT, specialized in complete recycling plants and machinery, was involved in the construction of a turnkey plastic recycling project with 3,000 kg/h of net production from post-consumer PET bottles, developed entirely by AMUT . The plant includes an efficient front-end for pre-selection and pre-washing of the bottle flow, including the patented wet Delabeller system.
Last December SMI inaugurated the largest recycling plant in Peru, becoming one of the most important in America. AMUT, as part of the project, completed the construction of the first of the three PET recycling systems that the company was awarded, focusing on the production of 100% recycled bottles. The new 6,000 kg/h line delivered to Lima, Peru’s largest recycling plant, is a sister project to the 3,000 kg/h one in Colombia.
At the Guatemala City site, in Guatemala, development work is underway, under the supervision of our experts, of the third Line awarded by the SMI Group: another integrated sorting and washing solution of 3,000 kg/h. AMUT’s technical and technological experience, based on high-performance patented machinery, guarantees high production capacity and quality of the flakes, making them suitable for Bottle-to-Bottle application.
The eco-sustainable plant is efficient from a water, energy and chemical point of view, as it reduces the consumption of fresh water to 1.1 liters per kg of high purity RPET flakes, thanks to the Friction Washer patented by AMUT, the Turbo Washer and the newly developed Turbo dryer.
AMUT recycling technologies, producing R-PET, help remove thousands of tons of post-consumer plastic from the environment for a more sustainable world.
