The Accountable Adaptation Initiative, in collaboration with the Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN) and University College London (UCL), has launched an exciting mini-grants program aimed at fostering innovative research in climate change adaptation accountability mechanisms. This program seeks to empower early to mid-career researchers from the Global South, particularly those based in African universities or working on Africa-focused adaptation topics.
Fellowship Overview
The fellowship will award up to eight small grants, with a maximum value of £4,500 each, to support research projects that delve into novel accountability mechanisms for climate change adaptation in Africa. Selected researchers will have the autonomy to design and execute their projects, with guidance and support from academic mentors.
In addition to funding, participants will benefit from:
- Ongoing mentorship from ARIN and UCL.
- Networking opportunities.
- Participation in an in-person “write shop” to develop a publication.
Projects under this program will emphasize tangible examples of improving accountability in adaptation practices across the African continent.
