Confronting Violence Against Women: A Conversation with Psychologist Marano

On the occasion of the initiatives linked to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, today 28 November, at 6pm at the Mug in Latina, the training and in-depth event entitled:

“Beyond the silence… The master. Story of a tragedy, story of manipulation.”

Promoted and organized by the President of the Equal Opportunities Commission at Pisana, Orlando Angelo Tripodi, the meeting aims to analyze the phenomenon of psychological violence, affective manipulation and control in relationships, taking inspiration from the emblematic case of Sara Di Pietrantonio, a young victim of feminicide. “Our goal is not only to raise awareness, but also to provide concrete tools to understand the dynamics that lead to these tragedies, starting from an in-depth analysis of toxic relationships and the culture of possession,” declared President Tripodi.

The event will see the participation of qualified experts, among these stands out Dr. Gabriella Marano, forensic psychologist and criminologist, known for her commitment to training and preventing gender violence, consultant to the Cecchettin family, a well-known face on TV.

Event program

The meeting will focus on crucial topics such as:

* The cultural and social roots of gender violence;

* Affective manipulation and obsessive control in relationships;

* Silence as an instrument of domination and the sentimental leash;

* The role of institutions in preventing and combating violence.

Documentary materials and significant testimonies will also be presented, including sentences, complaints and other relevant elements that will help to better understand the phenomenon. “Violence against women is not a private matter, but a social plague that affects us all. This event is the result of collective work and represents a concrete step to shine a light on the dynamics of violence and the responsibility of those who can make a difference, from institutions to individual citizens”, added Tripodi.
