Unwanted events took place in Sarajevo after the UEFA Youth League match between Trabzonspor U19 team and FK Sarajevo. After the match ended 2-2 at the Asim Ferhatovic Hase Olympic Stadium, FK Sarajevo fans attacked Trabzonspor fans. It was learned that one fan was taken to hospital as a result of the attack.

Trabzonspor Club reported the events and strongly condemned the attack:
“We strongly condemn the attack on our fans after our U19 Team’s away game against FK Sarajevo. Babur Girgin.”
The club said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye is responsible for ensuring the safety of the fans in Sarajevo:
“Following the security measures taken at the stadium, the process of our fans who are kept under police supervision is carefully followed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Kemal Bozay. We are doing our best to get our injured fans back as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy took action
After the events, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are following the process closely. Club officials thanked Ambassador Sadık Babür Girgin and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mehmet Kemal Bozay for their sensitivity.
