Project Archipelago: Sniper Battle Royale Canceled as Tencent Withdraws Funding Amid Tough Competition

A battle royale game based around Sniper Elite is said to have been canceled because Concord was so tough.

That’s telling Indoor games. According to them, Tencent has withdrawn funding from the game. Public playtests for Project Archipelago: Sniper Battle Royale were held this summer, but the game was later canceled. Developer Tencent and Sniper Elite Rebellion have not responded to Insider Gaming’s statement at the time of writing.

This summer the game was extensively tested for three days. A trailer has already been shown for the project, in which we see teams of snipers using their guns effectively by shooting down an enemy team.

It appears no one at Rebels was fired as a result of the game being canceled. They are desperately needed for that next game they have in mind: on January 28, 2025, Sniper Elite: Resistance will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC.

Tijn TreesI used to spend countless hours playing Team Fortress 2, Destiny and Rainbow Six: Siege, but I’m a jack of all trades, except JRPGs. It is certain that (indie) games can be art.
