DIJON: EVAD reacts to the election of Nathalie Koenders

The associative activists of Ensemble à vélo Dijon welcome “the election of a mayor who uses bicycles”.

Dijon Cycling Ensemble press release from November 27, 2024:

It’s time for elections in Dijon. Before the highly publicized election of Nathalie Koenders to the municipal council to take on the role of mayor, the members of the association EVAD – Ensemble à vélo met in a General Assembly in order to take stock of the past financial year and to election of a new Board of Directors.

The new team is made up of 8 outgoing members and a new candidate, elected unanimously. We welcome the departure of Jean-Christophe Barre, a historic member of the association who did not wish to run again, and we thank him for his commitment to the cause of cycling in the Dijon metropolis.

The new Board of Directors elected its new office and assigned new functions within it:
– Sylvain Nocquard, president
– Maël Szabelski, vice-president
– Bastien Leonetti, treasurer
– Douglas Fry, Assistant Treasurer
– Clément Deloison, secretary
– Hélène Montaldi, assistant secretary
– Clément Gahery, Francis Léger and Marielle Gaertner are also members of the CA.

Now, it’s time for a pivotal year: that of preparation for the 2026 municipal electoral sequence.

The association, in addition to its usual missions, will work to build advocacy in order to be able, from the start of the 2025 school year, to canvass the various candidate lists for the next local election, and invite them to commit to a broadly based ambition. enhanced for cycling in Dijon.

This will notably involve a new edition of the cycling cities barometer, in the first half of 2025. We will also continue our meetings with elected officials and communities in order to advance cycling issues, on both a small and large scale. The needs in the metropolis are great, and current and future users of the region can count on our determination to do the maximum so that cycling finally rhymes with comfort, pleasure and a feeling of security.
