Electricity prices in 2025. MP backs extension of safeguards

412 MPs voted to accept the law, three were against it and 14 abstained. Now the bill will go to the Senate for consideration.

The government project provides for the following: maintaining the highest electricity price for households at PLN 500 per net MWh until the end of September 2025.

During the work of parliament, an amendment was introduced to the bill providing: local government units and sensitive organizations will benefit from the maximum price of PLN 693 per net MWh, but only until the end of March 2025. This solution will cost PLN 150 million more, which the government has agreed to.

Parliamentary committees rejected the changes submitted by PiS MPs that provided for the extension of the solutions proposed in the project for the whole next year or, for example, the extension of the operation of the energy voucher.

As the government reported in November, prices energy for families to remain unchanged from January 2025, but by the end of April next year, companies will be asked to cut new taxes. The government will then decide whether further state intervention is needed. Now the project will go to Assemblyand then – for it to come into effect – it must be approved by the president.
