Towards the end of the year, the popular annual review Spotify Wrapped from the streaming service Spotify will be available again in 2024. After all Spotify users received the message via a pop-up in the app at the end of October that “2024 is almost over” and users should update the app to prepare for it. Many users were convinced: Spotify Wrapped 2024 would come out earlier this year. But things remained quiet about Spotify and the personal annual review in October and November. Until now.

The musical review that Spotify generates for each individual user is extremely popular and a highlight of the year for many music fans. There you can see how many hours and what music by which artists they listened to throughout the year. After the publication of Spotify Wrapped, millions of users share their listening habits on social media every year. Last year, Spotify generated a sharepic for social media with the individual data.
When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released?
Spotify has not yet announced when Wrapped will be released in 2024. However, because the annual review has been brought forward more and more in recent years, many speculated that Wrapped would be published earlier.
In 2023 and 2022, Spotify Wrapped was released on November 30th. In 2021 and 2020, it was released on December 1st. In 2019 it was released on December 5th and in 2018 on December 6th.
Now, on November 27th, users received another notice about the release of Spotify Wrapped when they opened the app. A blue and yellow pop-up titled “Your 2024 Wrapped To-Do List” appeared on the screen. Spotify also encourages its users to use the time until the annual review is published to listen to the annual playlists from 2023 and 2024 again: “The best time of the year is just around the corner. Get in the right mood by listening to your favorites from the last few years.” says the music streaming provider. So is Spotify Wrapped imminent?

Other evidence suggests that Spotify will not publish the popular annual review until December this year. This is suggested by an upcoming Wrapped concert from Spotify Indonesia, which is scheduled to take place on December 5th. It would be logical that Wrapped could appear one day before the event, on December 4th. A publication weeks before the Wrapped concert would probably also be a bit unfavorable for advertising the concert.
Spotify Wrapped: Until when does Spotify collect user data for the annual review?
From January 1st of the current year until the fall of the same year, Spotify collects user data to create the Spotify Wrapped. The users’ listening behavior in December is therefore not taken into account.
