Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, made an inspection visit to the Psychiatric and Addiction Treatment Hospital, located on an area of ​​17 thousand square meters in the city of New Damietta, attached to the General Secretariat of Mental Health and Treatment Slavery at the Ministry of Health and Population, when he was with Engineer Shaima Al-Siddiq, Deputy Governor Damietta, and came in the presence of Representative Hanaa, a member of the House of Representatives, and Engineer Ashraf Fathi, head of the New Damietta City Development Authority.

The Governor inspected hospital departments in the current building, which included outpatient clinics for addiction treatment, mental health, women’s health, and smoking cessation, as well as the center reception and emergency that works 24 hours a day, a medical research laboratory, another drug analysis laboratory, a pharmacy, and also a harm reduction unit for addiction treatment that includes 2 bed, a clinic for children in the morning and teenagers in the evening, as well as an addiction treatment unit for men, and two departments. for detoxification and rehabilitation.

During the visit, the “Governor of Damietta” listened to a detailed explanation of the working mechanism from Dr. Shaima Al-Bashbishi, Director of the Hospital, to provide medical services for the treatment of mental health and addiction to approximately 45 patients per day. the operation of the main building of the hospital, which is being implemented through the​​​​ Arab Contractors and Disability Company Facing the completion process, discussed Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi found ways to avoid these obstacles and developed a plan to complete the building according to a specific schedule.

He emphasized the need to work at the same time to complete work levels quickly, and the commitment to maintain coordination with the Ministry of Health and Housing, to complete this project as soon as possible, given the importance of the hospital, which is considered one. of the most important and largest hospitals specializing in mental health and addiction treatment, in the Delta region to serve patients in the Damietta Governorate and surrounding areas.
