It has been known for some time that Jude Law will soon make his “Star Wars” debut. But now there is reason to celebrate, because “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” is coming sooner than expected! The latest Star Wars series will be released a day earlier than originally announced.
The first two of the eight episodes were actually supposed to appear on December 3rd, but now the time has come on December 2nd. Due to the time difference, this means that “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” will open in Germany on December 3rd instead of December 4th from 3:00 a.m Disney Plus will be available. However, the following episodes will appear every Wednesday as planned, not as a double episode like on the premiere day, but always individually. Fans can see episode 3 from December 11th. The reasons for the early premiere are unknown.
Jude Law on an intergalactic trip with a group of children
What sounds like a fever dream is actually the plot of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”. Jude Law plays Jod Na Nawood, a man who can use the Force and is possibly a Jedi. But “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” tells the story of four children who are lost and want to find their home planet again with the help of Jod Na Nawood. On this intergalactic adventure they encounter a variety of dangers, aliens and locations. Whether the gang will make it back to their home planet will only become clear in the final episode on January 15th.
The trailer for “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”
The crew of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”
Spider-Man creator Jon Watts had the idea for a coming-of-age story in the Star Wars universe and was able to attract both Jude Law as the main actor and the “The Mandalorian” producers around Jon Favreau and a team of well-known directors such as Jake Schreier (“Beef”), Daniels (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”) and Bryce Dallas Howard (“The Mandalorian”) fish.
In addition to Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood, four friends with whom he travels through the galaxy are played by four young talents: Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, Kyriana Kratter as KB and Robert Timothy Smith as Neel.
The series in the “Star Wars” universe
In the „Star Wars“-Timeline, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” can be placed around the same time as “The Mandalorian” with Pedro Pascal. This means that the new series takes place between “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” the final part of the younger trilogy, and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the first part of the old trilogy. However, it is not yet known to what extent “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” is related to other projects in the “Star Wars” universe. What is certain, however, is that “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” doesn’t just open the doors to the “Star Wars” franchise for younger audiences. Even for older generations and fans of the original films who are still a bit skeptical after the trailer, which may seem like “TKKG” in space, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” can offer a refreshing change and nostalgic entertainment.
