the show at the Apparte theater from 9 to 10 December 2024

Panormos Officina Artistica is pleased to present “Integral Therapy”, by Marc Angelet and Cristina Clemente in the translation by Pino Tierno. In an absolute preview in Palermo, on Tuesday 10 December at 9pm, the curtain rises on a reading directed by Michela Andreozzi who plays it together with Pino Quartullo, Michele Savoia and Stefania Mulè. Combined with the show, a masterclass will also be held on 9 and 10 December for actors, or aspiring actors, who will enjoy the opportunity to participate by living an extraordinary immersive experience as protagonists.

The 2024/2025 “Trame e miraggi” theater review, organized by Panormos Officina Artistica in collaboration with L’Incanto di Iris and Spazio Cultura, is embellished with a one-of-a-kind event. “Integral therapy” brings to the stage the baking wizard Toni Roca, who has been giving courses to teach how to make bread for over ten years. You just need to feel good about yourself. A somewhat heterodox method through which he professes his belief: “We are the bread we make”. The students with him, moreover, not only knead the dough and check the baking, but also confess, cry, laugh, shout and free themselves… What can come out of it is always unpredictable, especially this time. In fact, three “students” have signed up for the course who, in terms of interests, characters and lifestyles, could not be more different.

“The challenge of a scenic reading is its very limit, which can become – explains Michela Andreozzi – the greatest ally of a mise en espace: what is movement is transformed into allusion, what is object is synthesized into symbol, the script becomes protagonist and the fragile and uncertain sense of the work in progress changes into emotion. I have always liked to have fun within imposed boundaries: in the bell drawn on the ground in the courtyard, within the rules of role-playing games, under the roof. of a certain budget on a set. The limit fuels my creativity, forcing me to… prepare a dinner with what I have in the pantry – paraphrasing the text that talks about a bizarre course to learn how to make bread, held by a cooking star , the reading is for me the taste of a staging: an aperitif, an appetizer, an amuse-bouche. Pleasant, appetizing and rich even if not filling. The ingredients for a good result are: script armored, strong actors, capacity for synthesis and allusion. Everything there is – concludes the director – in the recipe of ‘Integral Therapy'”.

The play takes place over the short period of a weekend in which a chef known for his bread, Toni, teaches three students, Nora, Bruno and Laura, very different from each other, the secrets of perfect bread, but also some survival techniques. Toni is a baker and a guru, Nora an obsessive compulsive cardiologist, Bruno a braggart and Laura a shy catechist. Perhaps. In this slice of life, outside of life itself, no one is really who they say they are, perhaps because cooking brings to light who we really are. Regardless, it’s a successful bread.

La masterclass

“Integral therapy” is the splendid performance of four artists who, on Monday 9 December from 3pm to 5pm and Tuesday 10 December from 3pm to 6pm, will hold the masterclass for actors, or aspiring actors. An exciting journey that will lead to investigating and discovering what aspects need to be taken care of before a performance on stage. Taking the participants by the hand will be Pino Quartullo, honorary president of Panormos Officina Artistica, with his considerable experience as a director, screenwriter, actor and dubber; Michela Andreozzi, director, actress, screenwriter, playwright, writer and radio host; Michele Savoia, director and actor very active in theater and cinema, as well as on TV; Stefania Mulè, actress, singer and theater director with versatile talent. An enveloping immersive experience which, starting from actor training, will evolve almost immediately into the preparation tests for the reading.
The masterclass and “Integral therapy” will take place at the Teatro Apparte in Palermo (via Antonio Furitano, 5). The show, scheduled for December 10th at 9pm, is part of the 2024/2025 “Trame e miraggi” exhibition, created thanks to Panormos Officina Artistica in collaboration with L’Incanto di Iris and Spazio Cultura.
