KKE v. Portosalte: Racism in the service of anti-communism –

The phenomena of racist rhetoric and argumentation… eugenics in the service of anti-communism, which are “broadcast” by television media and not only, are increasing. This is what the KKE complains about in a memorandum-letter submitted to the National Radio and Television Council (NRC) against the emerging tactic of belittling people for their point of view, using racist expressions and rhetoric about… IQ because they do not agree with the dominant policy. The KKE condemns such phenomena in the public discourse and especially in the media, on the occasion of comments by the journalist and Sky executive Ari Portosaltebut choosing to highlight the wider issue of racially inspired choices.

Aris Portosalte, recently at the center of an anti-war rally of the KKE in the Mandra of the KKE, provoked reactions, attacking the KKE for “speech, which is reminiscent of brain failure, (…) a general sense of disenchantment that needs disenchanted people to be able to follow the line ».

Already, 902.gr has commented on these positions, noting that it is not the first time that it has been done against the KKE, but, according to Perissos, there is a wider issue with such attitudes and formulations. “What to take first: The Nazi-style medicalization of political confrontation with references to “cerebral failure” and “unblocked”? The reproduction of the ugly racist stereotypes using the characteristic of disability to make his political-party propaganda?”, notes 902.gr. To complete: “It is obvious that the case of Portosalte does not concern and is no longer in the field of political conflict. It is a problem of a different type, it concerns institutions about whether they will allow, in the name of anti-communist vulgarity and lies, to even reach racist speech, the insult and belittlement of our fellow human beings, and of course it concerns the SKAI station itself.”

The KKE in its memorandum letter to the ESR criticized the social dimension of the issue and noted that there can be no tolerance for such phenomena. In fact, the KKE has announced that it will appeal wherever else it deems necessary.
