(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 26 – “The international community must impose measures on the Houthis in order to bring them back to the peace negotiating table and ensure that they respect the UN resolutions”: he told ANSA, on the sidelines of the Med Dialogues in Rome, Yemeni Foreign Minister Shaya Mohsin Zindani. “We hope that the 2015 road map, which was supposed to follow the ceasefire, can bring peace and a political solution but because of the Houthis, who following the Israeli aggression in Gaza launch missiles and drones supplied by Iran and threaten international trade security and also regional and international security in this crucial area, the road map is frozen.” “The international community must support our government, the only one recognized internationally, and adopt measures to enforce resolution 2216. So far the Houthis have not respected anything of its provisions,” he added. The resolution called for a ceasefire and specifically ordered the Houthis to immediately cease hostilities and leave occupied areas, including Sana’a, the capital, and imposed an arms embargo against them. It also provided for the protection of civilians and increased humanitarian aid. (HANDLE).
