Saint David’s is a warm, welcoming, growing and increasingly diverse Christian community that believes in the power of God to transform lives and change the world. We are open and welcoming to all: race, income, political affiliation (or lack thereof), age, gender and sexual orientation are NOT barriers to inclusion. We are committed to building the justice-filled world that Jesus taught his disciples to hope for and live in. We believe that the Holy Spirit calls us to care for one another, to pray, to study, to worship, and to celebrate.
St. David’s liturgical style combines traditional and modern elements to create a welcoming and respectful worship experience. There are two Sunday morning services that differ in style, each fostering meaningful connection through ritual and community while maintaining a “down-to-earth” sensitivity. We also have a weekday children’s chapel for our day school community.
We are looking for an effective communicator whose sermons “tell a story” and connect Scripture to the world around us. We plan to call a rector who will collaborate enthusiastically within and beyond the parish. Our rector must be an inspiration and a visionary, encouraging St. David to move toward the future with purpose, while sharing God’s love with all people. Our rector serves as chairman of the day school board and school chaplain. We look forward to welcoming a compassionate and approachable rector to the community.
What specific strategies or initiatives does St. David’s employ to ensure its inclusivity extends to all individuals regardless of background, beliefs, or life experiences?
