Science Expériences Lyon: The new immersive museum

We have discovered THE novelty from Lyon that will take you on a journey through science. Science Experiments has just opened its doors in Lyon, and we have tested for you this unique concept which combines discovery and entertainment. Our verdict? A stunning experience that is definitely worth the detour!

A scientific bubble in the heart of Lyon

Head to the 2nd arrondissement, rue Thomassin, where this atypical place is hidden. From the moment you enter, you forget the outside world to immerse yourself in a totally captivating immersive universe. After 5 years of success in Paris, Science Experiments moved to Lyon, and it was really expected.

A breathtaking space journey

First stop: space! We start in style with a immersion in the international space stationalso called ISS. A little surprising info: it is only 400 kilometers above our heads, and we can even see it with the naked eye in the night sky. On site, you can discover your weight on different planets (I promise, you feel lighter on the Moon). For those aged over 10, a virtual reality headset allows them to explore the solar system, while younger children enjoy an equally fascinating large format projection.

From the abyss to the volcanoes: the exploration continues

The rest of the journey plunges us into the ocean depths. The atmosphere changes completely, we are faced with the fascinating creatures of the abyss. The journey continues at the center of the Earth. Between volcanoes and tectonic movements, the projections are spectacular and truly immersive.

Sensory exploration

The most that won us over? The space dedicated to the human brain, a 100% Lyon exclusive.

Three awesome workshops are offered:
– a fakir rug for a unique sensory experience,
– the collaborative creation of a work of psychic art
– a recreation of the famous game “LOL, who laughs comes out” – a really funny moment!

Lab-style finale

To finish, room for scientific experiments. Forget memories of sometimes austere chemistry classes: here, it’s a real educational show. Carbon dioxide, overflowing foam, mysterious smoke, static electricity… all explained by passionate and super educational mediators. We can handle, touch.

The strong points that make the difference

  • Audio guides available in 10 languages.
  • Small groups of 15 people maximum.
  • Presence of mediators in each room.
  • A well-designed 750 m² course.
  • A multi-sensory experience (even with different scents depending on the room!)

We completely validate! It’s a perfect outing for all audiences, whether for family time, an activity with friends, an original cultural discovery or even an enriching school outing.
