Gloria Poluektov had to admit defeat to her opponent Noa Dauphinais in the women’s singles. The women’s doubles of Shreya Hochscheid/Marie Sophie Stern lost by a narrow margin in three sets.
“A game at eye level. But that wasn’t unexpected. Overall, it was a good competitive performance from our team today,” DBV assistant national youth coach told badminton.de. “There was a lot of tension and excitement and we weren’t able to give our best performance on the badminton court today. But we were able to win the important games.”
On Wednesday, Germany will face Ireland in the second group game (from 1:30 p.m. CET). The team from Portugal awaits in the final group game on Thursday (from 09:30 CET).
