Reported AFP and Al JazeeraOn Wednesday (27/11/2024), Netanyahu said he would present to the entire cabinet a draft of a cease-fire agreementwith Hezbollah from Lebanon for approval.
Netanyahu said a ceasefire with Hezbollah would allow Israel to “increase” pressure on Hamas and focus on the “Iranian threat”.

“When Hezbollah is not involved, Hamas will be left alone in the fight. Our pressure on it will increase,” Netanyahu said, adding that a ceasefire would also “focus on the Iranian threat” and give time for the army to resupply.
Regarding how long the ceasefire will last, Netanyahu said that it all depends on what happens in Lebanon.
Netanyahu confirmed that Israel would ‘retaliate’ if Hezbollah opposed the truce. Netanyahu said Hezbollah was no longer the only group “that waged war against us”, saying Israeli forces had been pushed back for decades.
He said Israeli forces had killed most of the group’s leadership and “destroyed their infrastructure”.
Netanyahu also promised to return families in northern Israel to their homes “We were able to achieve many of our goals in this war,” he said.
The agreement would end Hezbollah’s armed presence on the border south of the Litani River and force Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese army would then have to deploy in the region – which is also a Hezbollah stronghold – within 60 days, officials said.
