Willy Adames is an option for the Red Sox in free agency – El Nuevo Diario (Dominican Republic)

EL NUEVO DIARIO, BOSTON.- The Red Sox were one of the first teams to meet Juan Soto. And while USA Today journalist Bob Nightengale is still naming them as one of four possible destinations for the Dominican star, his latest report suggests the club could very well be busy in other areas in the coming weeks.

According to a report from Nightengale, the Red Sox are not only interested in signing one of the best pitchers available like Corbin Burnes, Max Fried or Blake Snell, but they are actually interested in two to sign a player from that group. It remains to be seen if that will come to fruition, but they are determined to hire at least one of the lefties (Fried or Snell).

And that’s not all.

The same report suggests that the Red Sox are also heavily involved in negotiations for shortstop Willy Adames, who has indicated that he is willing to move to third base under the right circumstances. Of course, the Red Sox currently have All-Star Rafael Devers at third base, but they are reportedly considering moving him to another position. This could open the door to signing Adames or Alex Bregman, or trying to complete a trade with the Cardinals for Nolan Arenado.
