10 teams compete in the 2024-2025 season of Japan’s men’s volleyball Daido Life SV.League.
In the first stage of the competition, the regular season, played between October 11, 2024 and April 13, 2025, each team plays a total of 44 matches – 22 at home and 22 away. The winning team of each 3-0 or 3-1 match receives 3 points. The winning team of each 3-2 match receives 2 points. The losing team of each 3-2 match receives 1 point.
The winning rate (total number of wins divided by total number of matches played) is the first classification criterion for the regular season standings. The next tie-breaking criteria are the total number of points earned, the set ratio, the point ratio and the head-to-head record, in that order.
The top six teams of the final regular season standings advance to the playoffs. The playoffs are held between the third week of April 2025 and May 4, 2025. In the quarterfinal and the semifinal playoffs, the teams placed higher in the table play at home.
The teams placed third to sixth compete in the best-of-three quarterfinals. The winners of the two quarterfinals, the regular season winners and the regular season runners-up advance to the best-of-three semifinals. The winners of the two semifinals advance to the best-of-three final, which determines the 2025 Japanese SV.League champion.
There are no ranking matches for the teams that finish the regular season in the places from seventh to 10th or for the teams that lose the quarterfinals and the semifinals. For them, the final standings are based on the order of their final standings in the regular season.
