Unfortunately, early today, Sunday 24/11, 18-year-old Haritini Karachristou breathed her last, who was seriously injured in the traffic accident that occurred on November 2 in Agrinio, where her 20-year-old brother Akis died instantly, as reported by agrinionews.gr.
It is recalled that the traffic accident took place on Saturday night at the Megali Chora junction on the Antirrio – Ioannina highway, when the motorcycle in which the two brothers were riding collided head-on with a car.
The passenger car was driven by a 37-year-old man and his 33-year-old wife and their two children, aged 17 and 11 respectively, were on board.
“The engine was down and broken, the car was badly damaged. The world is down. I got closer and what I saw was the boy down, I didn’t see the girl, they took her faster. The boy who saw it we understood that he had ended up,” said an eyewitness.
The 18-year-old fought hard for 22 days
The unfortunate girl fought for 22 days to keep herself alive in the Intensive Care Unit of the Agrini Hospital where the doctors did everything possible. Hopes, however, had dwindled dramatically from the first 24 hours and the “miracle” that everyone expected did not happen.
In the previous days, a relevant call had been shared on social media in order to collect money for the girl’s hospitalization needs “in a specialized ICU”.
