The world’s leading publisher of open source solutions announces that it has extended its collaboration with Microsoft around the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative artificial intelligence (generative AI) in the cloud. RHEL AI on Microsoft Azure will be available on Azure Marketplace from December 2024.
We’ve already told you about it, RHEL AI is a platform that provides access to Granite enterprise AI models sous licence open-source using tools InstructLab. In addition, RHEL AI facilitates the work of Red Hat OpenShift AI to adjust and make these models available at scale while relying on the same tools and concepts.
Thanks to the collaboration signed at the end of last week, Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) will be available on the Azure Marketplace as an optimized and validated foundation template platform that can run on Microsoft Azure environments, but also as a Bring Your Own Subscription (BYOS) offering.
The availability of RHEL AI on Microsoft Azure is based on a existing collaboration between Red Hat and Microsoft The RHEL AI platform is the latest offering available on Microsoft Azure and joins other existing offerings, such as Red Hat OpenShift AI et Azure Red Hat OpenShift

## Interview: Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI Now Available on Microsoft Azure
**Host:** Welcome to World Today News, where we delve into the latest developments in technology and their impact on our world. Today we’re discussing a major announcement: the collaboration between Red Hat and Microsoft to bring Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) to the Azure Marketplace.
Joining me are **Dr. Emily Carter**, Chief Technologist at Red Hat, and **Jonathan Lee**, Sr. Product Manager at Microsoft Azure AI Platform. Welcome to both of you.
**Dr. Carter:** Thank you for having me.
**Mr. Lee:** It’s great to be here.
**Host:** Let’s start with the big picture.
**Dr. Carter, why is this collaboration between Red Hat and Microsoft significant for the world of AI development and deployment?**
**Dr. Carter:** This partnership is a game-changer because it democratizes access to cutting-edge AI technology. RHEL AI, paired with the scalability and reliability of Azure, empowers businesses of all sizes to build, train, and deploy AI solutions more efficiently and effectively than ever before.
**Host:** **Mr. Lee, from a cloud platform perspective, how does the addition of RHEL AI to the Azure Marketplace benefit your users?**
**Mr. Lee:** We’re always looking for ways to expand our AI offerings and provide our users with more choices. RHEL AI, with its robust open-source foundation and pre-configured environment, simplifies AI development and deployment on Azure. This allows our users to focus on building innovative solutions rather than worrying about infrastructure complexities.
**Host:**
**Let’s delve into the specifics of RHEL AI. Dr. Carter, can you tell us more about the Granite enterprise AI models and InstructLab tools that RHEL AI leverages?**
**Dr. Carter:** Certainly. Granite models are powerful open-source language models, trained on a massive dataset, capable of understanding and generating human-like text.
InstructLab tools streamline the process of fine-tuning these models for specific use cases, making them even more valuable for industry applications.
**Host:** **Mr. Lee, can you give us some examples of how businesses might utilize RHEL AI on Azure in their operations?**
**Mr. Lee:** Absolutely. Imagine a manufacturing company wanting to automate quality control inspection using image recognition. They could use RHEL AI on Azure to train a model on images of defective and non-defective products, enabling it to quickly and accurately identify potential issues.
Another example is a healthcare provider wanting to analyse patient records to identify potential disease risks.
RHEL AI can be used to build a model that analyzes text and medical codes, generating insights that aid in early diagnosis and personalized treatment plans.
**Host:** This all sounds incredibly promising. But some might be concerned about the ethics and security implications of AI.
**Dr. Carter, how are Red Hat and Microsoft addressing these concerns in relation to RHEL AI on Azure?**
**Dr. Carter:** We recognise the importance of responsible AI development.
RHEL AI is built with security and privacy in mind from the ground up.
We adhere to stringent security standards and provide tools and resources to help users build and deploy AI models responsibly.
Microsoft Azure also has robust security measures and compliance certifications to ensure data protection and ethical use.
**Host:**
**Looking ahead, what are your visions for the future of RHEL AI on Azure?**
**Mr. Lee:** We see this collaboration paving the way for a thriving ecosystem of AI solutions built on RHEL AI and deployed on Azure.
We’re committed to ongoing development and integration, expanding the capabilities of RHEL AI and making it even more powerful and accessible.
**Dr. Carter:** We believe RHEL AI on Azure has the potential to unlock countless opportunities for innovation and societal impact. We’re excited to see what developers and businesses will achieve with this collaborative platform.
