More than 2 WhatsApp accounts on one device? (WhatsApp)

If you use a Samsung device, you can use the so-called “Dual Messenger” function to install a second/cloned WhatsApp instance in addition to the first one.
You can then use the above-mentioned new WhatsApp feature on both and add a second account within one instance.

This means you would have 4 different WhatsApp clients on one cell phone/device. With WA Business (slightly modified app, but otherwise largely identical) there would be 5.

If you don’t have a Samsung device and can’t use this feature, I recommend the free “Parallel Space” from the PlayStore/Apple Store, which I used for years to have a private WA account and a business account on one device at the same time. Parallel Space is an emulator that simulates its own mobile phone environment and then its own apps. Almost a sandbox.

If you also install Parallel Space on a Samsung, you will already have 6 different standard WhatsApp accounts on your cell phone and with WhatsApp Business it would already be 2.

I can’t check at the moment whether WhatsApp Business allows another account within the client, like the standard client. If so, then overall on a single (Samsung) device we would have:

4x WhatsApp Business Accounts
6x Standard WhatsApp Accounts

For non-Samsung devices, 2 less each.

I think THAT should be enough accounts on one device for the average user…

But then that’s another different app.

But I would rather suggest using this new feature in WhatsApp itself. Apparently, when using this feature, WhatsApp throws all media files from BOTH accounts into the same/single media folder. There is therefore no strict separation of the two accounts. How local backups are handled isn’t really clear yet – if they all end up in the same database folder (possibly not even renamed from the file name), then I’m wondering how restoring a backup will work in the future. if we have everything here all mixed up in one and the same system folder…

So if you want things to be neat and clear, it’s better not to use this new feature until WA has a usable and clean solution… If ever…
