Schendelbeke. Lieve Demeulemeester died suddenly on Friday, November 22, at the age of 56. She was born in Waregem on March 20, 1968. After a very difficult life, Lieve lived a little withdrawn in Schendelbeke. She described herself as ‘Wlemish West’ washed up.
I had the pleasure of working with them on several occasions. She had a sharp mind and was straight forward. She followed current events closely and regularly messaged me about various news events or wrote a comment about one of my contributions. She made no secret of her opinion.
Lieve had a sense of language and humor. She loved cryptograms. A few years ago she sent me the following: ‘Philosophy that saw the sun bending in confusion’. She told me afterwards what she meant by it.
Lieve was the founder of the very successful Facebook group ‘Language capriolen’, where language is used in a fun and playful way every day. The group has over 10,000 members. She would regularly post witty and funny posts on it. Lieve had a talent for language. The temperamental woman was capable of much more than she let on.
It was very nice to cross your path, dear. I will miss your witty and funny comments, but also your temper.
Lieve leaves behind two children and a sister. Her farewell takes place in a close circle.
The editors wish a lot of strength to the family and friends.
