(ANSA) – FLORENCE, NOV 23 – Adele Corradi, the teacher who, from 1963, helped Don Lorenzo Milani teach school in Barbiana (Florence) until the death of the prior in 1967, has died in Florence, her hometown. Corradi, who would have turned 100 on December 9th, also followed the entire collective editorial work of the Letter to a Professor. On her experience and knowledge of Don Milani she had published a book, with Feltrinelli, ‘Non so se don Lorenzo’: “I was born in Florence in 1924 and for my entire working life I was a literature teacher in middle school – she said – I retired at the age of sixty-seven. I must confess that I was a teacher identical to the recipient of the Letter to a Teacher. I deserved them all there is not a word in the Letter that I would not endorse. The encounter with the Barbiana school and with Don Milani has dug a furrow in my life as I have never seen myself as a person.” (HANDLE).
