(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 23 – Twenty-one smartwatches are arriving in Rome to protect women victims of violence. The ‘Mobile Angel’ project becomes operational in the capital, a service born from the collaboration between the Carabinieri and Roman clubs of Soroptimist International, entirely supported by the Lottomatica Foundation. These are latest generation devices connected directly to the operations center of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Rome which, worn by victims of persecutory acts or in any case of gender violence, can send a request for help. The alarm, in addition to being able to be activated by the woman, is triggered automatically in the event of an attack such as a push or if it is torn from the wrist. The smartwatch is also equipped with a microphone and a geolocation device. The project, presented this morning, comes to life after the signing of a technical protocol in recent months between the provincial command of the Carabinieri and the Rome Prosecutor’s Office. It has already been started in other cities starting from Naples, Turin and Milan. (HANDLE).
